About Renegade
Renegade Partners is an early-stage venture firm managing $228M across two funds, founded in 2020 by Renata Quintini (Lux, Felicis) and Roseanne Wincek (IVP, Canaan). Since day zero, we have been backed by top-tier institutional investors, including pension funds, foundations, and an Ivy League endowment.
We built a firm from first principles – working closely with our founders, a fund size incentivized to generate returns, and deep investments in platform, technology and decision science. Renegade is a venture firm with institutional muscle and startup hustle.
We lead or co-lead Seed and Series A rounds with $2–10M checks, investing in only 6–7 companies per year. Our concentrated portfolio lets us go deep: we’re in the boardrooms of over 80% of our companies and provide hands-on support where it matters most, namely people ops and early scaling.
The Role
We’re hiring an Investor to play an integral role on our investment team. Working alongside our two Managing Partners, this person will have a clear path to Partner.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact seat at a boutique, high-performing firm with a strong investment track record and a stable team that has been working together for over five years. You’ll play a key role in shaping both our portfolio and internal processes—helping to build the firm as we help founders build theirs. You should have a deep curiosity about where technology is heading and a genuine enthusiasm for partnering with technical founders.
You’ll be responsible for full lifecycle investing: from sourcing and diligence to deal execution and portfolio support. You’ll also collaborate with Renegade’s full team, including our Operating Partner, VP of Finance, and Head of Data, and you will mentor and guide early-career associate(s).
What You’ll Do
Sourcing & Thesis Development
- Own and drive sourcing strategies across thesis, founder-led, network-driven, and outbound channels
- Develop and iterate on investment theses aligned with Renegade’s long-game strategy
- Contribute to the evolution of Renegade’s sourcing engine
- Stay on the pulse of emerging technology trends and help shape the firm’s perspective on new sectors and innovation cycles
Diligence & Deal Execution
- Lead diligence processes with structured thinking, strong communication, and attention to market context
- Work with founders, customers, co-investors, and internal stakeholders to evaluate and win deals
- Bring a thoughtful, tech-forward lens to evaluating products, teams, and markets
Winning & Relationship Building
- Create favorable deal dynamics and contribute to Renegade’s win rate in competitive processes
- Build trusted relationships with founders and other investors
- Represent Renegade with thoughtfulness and integrity
- Build Renegade’s brand through thought leadership, including written content and speaking engagements to attract top founders and strengthen the firm's reputation as a differentiated early-stage partner
Portfolio & Firm Leadership
- Serve as a high-impact partner to founders post-investment
- Contribute to portfolio reviews and strategic support initiatives
- Mentor junior talent and shape firm processes as part of Renegade’s leadership bench
